Meet Our New Neighbors! - By Emily

We've recently learned that living in a shipyard isn't all bad, there are definitely some interesting sights to be seen. For example, The bird that has been laying on the roof for a solid 3 weeks (he's just sleeping 😉) , the mysterious marshmallows that continuously pop up in our dinghy, inexperienced jet-skiers running into docks for the sake of a good selfie, and most recently Boeing's Echo Ranger. Echo Ranger is a whale-shaped, self righting, obstacle avoiding,
unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV). The bright yellow aluminum UUV parked itself next to us early one gloomy Saturday (April 9 to be exact). You may be wondering what Echo Ranger is doing in a shipyard located in Dana Point. To put it plainly she is getting ready for a trip down into the depths off of our beautiful California coast. She is taking a coastal trip down to San Clemente and will be conducting underwater navigation testing. For more information about Echo Ranger and her adventures check out the Boeing website.
